What originally brought you into the NFT space?
Personally for me, it was a gradual trip down the rabbit hole. I began in stocks, options and cryptro in January 2021, reading up on Reddit every day. I moved to private subreddits, which led me to private, paid trading Discords where I began to learn about NFTs. I had been watching and reading about NFTs and had really started paying attention when Beeple’s “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” sold for 69 million is March. I watched for the next few months and bought my first NFT in August on OpenSea. Loopy Donuts was actually my first mint.

What do you think is the most important thing to look for before investing in NFT projects?
NFT Projects are just businesses, so investing in them should be like investing in anything else. Do your research, look who is behind the project, look at their vision, their experience. The art is a big part of it for myself, but I also want to be feeling confident that this project is going places with a strong team to back it up. Having a public team is important to me but I know lots of others consider web3 a place where anons should be able to create and be trusted, but I leave that up to you. Be safe, do your research and enjoy the art.

How did you come up with the idea for your NFT project?
The idea wasn’t mine but one of the original founders (who is still involved today: Mariana). They wanted something Donut themed and to be somewhat like Garbage Pail Kids.

What makes your NFT project unique?
Loopy Donuts are unique in a few ways. One, when they came out, there were no other Donut themed NFTs as most were animal related. Second, the art is very unique in this space as it has a light and airy feeling to it and a fun and silly nature behind it. The project has been through a lot in the last three weeks as three of the four founders decided they did not want to be a part of the project baby longer. They removed 166 ETH from the treasury (including 20 ETH from our CHILL token Liquidity Pool) and left. They broke the website, removing the minting dApp for our companion collection, our whitepaper (countless hours of work) and many other things. Over the next three weeks, with the help of a lawsuit and Mariana, we were given back 33 ETH, all the smart contracts, control over OpenSea, and a detailed guide as to how the codes were written. We hired some new devs to help us and we are in the midst of getting everything back up and running. As of today, we have regained our floor price of 0.03 (which dropped to as low as 0.007 after the rugpull). We are happy and excited to bring this project to a whole new level, our community has been amazing and such a powerful driving force. They never gave up on us and we really appreciate every last one of them for believing in us.

How big is the team and what are their roles?
Our team is now seven amazing people. We have three Discord moderators (RobMThespian, Kermit and FydaqCollects) who have been with us through the ups and downs of the last couple months, two devs (raregonzo and BakedOcclusion) who have volunteered their time to get us back on our feet and then there is Lusidream and myself (GuiltyKitchen), the co-owners.

Are there any mechanics or utility we should know about?
Utility is still in development, but we do have a companion collection, Loopy Cups, and have plans for burning them and adding animations to our Genesis collection, Looy Donuts. We also have plans for games, as well as other added utilities we have not released yet.

What is the most challenging part of the NFT project creation journey?
Building a solid community can be difficult but I think the hardest part is continuing momentum after minting. It seems a lot of projects have zero plans after the initial mint, which is fine, as long as that is what is advertised, but NFTs are businesses and businesses need to keep moving forward in order to survive in this market.

Is there another NFT project you admire that we should reach out to next?
I really admire what Floor Sweep Crew is doing in the space right now. I also love Psychedelics Anonymous for everything they are doing to change the space as well.
