What are NFTs

 March 14, 2022

Key Takeaways

  • An executive order by U.S President Joe Biden might mean positive news for the NFT space, as it focuses on rooting out illegal activity in the crypto space and exploring whether the Central bank should create its own digital currency.
  • OpenSea banned Iranian users in compliance with U.S sanctions with no prior warning or explanation. Some NFT artists have been devastated upon seeing a large part of their income vanish practically overnight. Just holding an Iranian passport is enough to warrant being de-platformed.

BAYC Yuga Labs bought Cryptopunks and Meebits from Larva Labs, as explained by a joint announcement on Twitter on Friday evening. They now own the brands, copyright in the art, and other IP rights for both collections, along with 423 CryptoPunks and 1711 Meebits.
