What originally brought you into the NFT space?

I first learned about NFTs in 2016. I don’t think this term was used back then. There were trading cards minted on Counterparty, a layer 2 network built on top of the Bitcoin network. I didn’t really see the point of owning NFTs before learning about metaverse parcels a couple of years later.

What month and year did you get involved in NFTs?

My OpenSea profile says October 2018 🙂

How did you come up with the idea for your NFT project?

I’ve been working with both music and crypto for many years. I couldn’t be more happy to work on something that gets to combine the two of them.

What makes your NFT project unique?

In most of my pieces I try to illustrate NFTs as the next format of music. There are cassettes, CD’s, USB-sticks etc. I also have a very low entry barrier on my project, compared to most of the other music NFT projects in the space. You can get my records on NFT for the same price as you would get it on iTunes and Beatport, maybe even less.

Every NFT unlocks a download-link to the particular record. That’s the utility. I also have a CUBE series that gives access to community and airdrops.

How big is the team and what are their roles?

I am my own team, but I do collaborate with friends and other artists on a lot of projects. If I collaborate with another music artist we usually split the NFTs between each other.

+
Where do you see NFTs in the next 3-5 years?

I think NFTs will be crucial for most digital businesses in the future. Any digital item just becomes a lot more flexible when it is an NFT.

What would you tell a newbie before beginning to invest in the NFT market? What should they look for?

If you really want to put money into NFTs, buy something that you want. You wouldn’t buy a gym membership if you don’t plan on going to the gym. I’d say look for something you can extract value from holding, such as community access or yield. The best purchases are those you don’t plan on selling.

Are there any projects you admire that you think we should reach out to next?

Rywave – a project that is building a music streaming platform with elements from DeFi built in. (I am an advisor)
