What originally brought you into the NFT space?
I made some wonderful IRL friendships in the last couple of years that brought me into crypto, and I slowly got into NFTs from there!

What month and year did you get involved in NFTs?
Fall of 2021.

How did you come up with the idea for your NFT project?
I joined the project a few months in, but the founders and the artist were all brainstorming fun character ideas for quite a while. There were ideas for cute and silly food-based characters, as well as animals, but when our artist combined the Pie and the Octopus, everyone agreed it was “the one”!

What makes your NFT project unique?
I personally think it’s our community! They really blow my mind. They are caring, kind, fun, silly, and really believe in us. They represent everything that is Pieland!

How big is the team and what are their roles?
Our core team included the 3 founders and 4 others. Those 7 roles are our developer, community manager, project manager, artist, copywriter, creative, and digital content.

Are there any mechanics or utility we should know about?
You can check out our full roadmap on our website, which we’ve already been working on, but one of my favorite aspects of Pieland is our Carbon Negative commitment, which we’ve begun by planting one tree per Octopie minted, and since we threw in extras, that means that over 11 thousand trees have been planted. The commitment isn’t exclusive to planting trees, but that’s a really wonderful part of it! We’ve also launched our on-site rarity tool, MyPies, which has been super cool to see in use for our Competitions for holders.

Where do you see NFTs in the next 3-5 years?
I think there is so much room for growth in Web3, which is one of the most exciting things for me. I think it’s really cool to see the various ways that NFTs impact people’s real daily lives, and I think that’s something we’re going to see more and more of. I’m also constantly seeing more women (such as myself) joining the space, which is amazing!

What would you tell a newbie before beginning to invest in the NFT market? What should they look for?
I think it’s important to like what you buy. Also, be cautious of links and DMs!
