What originally brought you into the NFT space?

Super thankful for my sister Steph Sutto for introducing me to cryptocurrency in 2017 and then NFTs (CryptoKitties) in 2020. Shortly after I bought some CryptoKitties, my sister was doing some research and looking at the Dapper Labs website when she noticed that they were starting up a project called NBA Top Shot. She joined when they first opened their public beta in October 2020 and started buying packs and moments and then the next day she told me about it and we both just became obsessed.

What month and year did you get involved in NFTs?

October 2020.

What NFTs do you currently own? What is your favorite and why?

I own almost a thousand across various blockchains, hehe, but hmmm one of my favorites is my purple haired Doodle because I traded with one of the founders, Poopie, for it which makes it extra special.

What do you think is the most important thing to look for before investing in NFT projects?

THE TEAM behind the project is so important. For example, I knew Doodles would be a great project because they had the ultimate combination as far as founding teams go… the artist, Burnt Toast, is a well established artist in the web2 world and the other 2 founders, Poopie and Evan Keast, both previously worked for Dapper Labs for years and are known in the web3 space.

I rarely buy into projects where the team is anon unless they have a reputation in the space.

What would you tell a newbie before beginning to invest in the NFT market? What should they look for?

Really NFTs shouldn’t be looked at as investments, but rather the ability to buy into a community and project where you want to be a part of the journey! Look into web3 security practices before investing and make sure you get everything set up properly. Educating yourself on cyber security in this space is important so you don’t get scammed out of your NFTs.
Here’s a great thread on securing your NFTs by someone I’d recommend following if you’re new: https://twitter.com/richerd/status/1488735217934225408?s=20&t=JMQoD5VAY_u3aCk1H8i76Q

What do you foresee as the top challenges for NFTs moving forward?

Too many scams and cash grabs in the space right now that deter a lot of newcomers.

+
Where do you see NFTs in the next 3-5 years?

Honestly idk, hard to say!

Anything else you’d like the people to know about you?!
